Important points to remember about the MERS-TM process are:
- Solutions are not always generated from single events but from clusters and patterns of data, both at the local and national level.
- The type of information reported into the system must be defined and prioritized. If everything is reported and the majority of time is spent entering data, no time will be left over for analysis and interpretation. As the larger problems are taken care of, the scope of what is reported can be increased.
- The depth of investigation will vary based on the potential of risk to the patient and/or the organization.
